Last night Paris was placed under a 72-hour psychiatric order.
The 15-year-old daughter of late popstar Michael Jackson was taken to hospital after emergency services got a call at 1:27am yesterday.
According to reports, Paris had taken a large number of painkiller pills in an apparent attempted suicide.
It emerged the teenager had also left a suicide note and phoned a suicide hotline, with the worried counsellor calling the police.

Paris is "safe and doing fine" in hospital.
She was conscious and aware when the ambulance arrived, and put up no struggle when the emergency technicians placed her on a stretcher and took her to the hospital.
A statement from Paris' grandmother Katherine Jackson's lawyer Perry Sandler says she is getting the "appropriate medical attention."

There are no updates from representatives of the Jackson family.
A day before Paris attempted an apparent suicide she wrote on Twitter: "you say i need therapy , well , my darling , so do you . don't need for you to tell me what is wrong in all i say or do."
They are lyrics from the song Concrete Wall by Zee Avi.

Cops officially classified the incident as a "suicide attempt," but they do NOT believe her intent was to kill herself, this according to reports.
A family insider has told US press: "Who takes Motrin to kill themselves?  She called the suicide hotline because she wanted the attention and wanted to make sure EMTs got there in time."
10:14
Paris's uncles Tito, Marlon and Jackie echoed that sentiment in a statement last night, saying: "Thank you for the outpouring of concern and support for Paris - she is safe and doing fine.
"We truly appreciate you respecting our family's privacy at this time."
Michael Jackson kept his children out of the spotlight during his lifetime.
After his death at 50 from an overdose of the anaesthetic propofol in June 2009, the children took on a more public life, beginning with his memorial service, which included Paris's tearful goodbye to her father.

Paris' best friend has spoken of her shock following the teenager's apparent suicide bid.
Sophie Jastow says she was left "shaking" after hearing the news.
The schoolgirl tweeted: "so f***in sad right now...litdraally [SIC] shaking right now...literally i cant even focus."
Another friend and fellow student at the private Buckley school in California, Joline Nehoray, added: "So heartbroken. Stay strong."

La Toya Jackson is looking out for her niece after her apparent suicide attempt.
The older sister of Michael Jackson told E! News: "We are grateful and appreciate the overwhelming concern for Paris from both the public and the media, but request privacy at this time while our family handles these issues together."

A 20-minute video of the teenager applying make-up was posted on YouTube last week, but she said on Twitter she did not know how the video - in which she repeatedly says "I am so weird" - ended up on the site.
But she added: "I hope you guys liked it tho and didn't think i'm too crazy. i get weird when i'm not around people lol."

Her grandmother Katherine Jackson shares guardianship of her son's three children - Paris and her brothers Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11 - with the singer's nephew TJ Jackson.

Mr Mesereau said any problems faced by Paris are "magnified a thousand times by the media attention that her family just repeatedly has".
The lawyer said we never know what "lurks inside people".
"Michael was a very, very devoted father and very protective of his children," he told Daybreak.
"Everywhere they went they were followed, they were examined, they were dissected, they were criticised. And obviously this has caught up to her, and it's really a tragedy.
"She's a beautiful, brilliant, popular, kind-hearted, lovely young girl who clearly has some troubles that have to be addressed."
09:31
The man who defended Michael Jackson in his 2005 child abuse trial has said "repeated media attention" could have complicated the life of the singer's 15-year-old daughter Paris.
The teenager was taken to hospital after what is thought to have been a possible overdose, but is now "safe and doing fine".
Lawyer Tom Mesereau said Jackson's children faced a "tremendously public profile" when their father died.

TMZ report a law enforcement officer 'familiar with the situation' claims Paris "wanted attention."
The article continues with the 'source' questioning the 15-year-old's intentions of contacting a suicide helpline.
"She wanted to be saved. It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house," the source assessed to TMZ.
09:18
Hours before trying to kill herself with a meat cleaver and overdose yesterday, Paris Jackson posted two worrying Twitter messages.
At around midnight US time she recited the sorrowful Beatles song Yesterday to her million followers, writing: "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as though they're here to stay."
And earlier she had posted: "I wonder why tears are salty."
09:11
US website TMZ quotes a source close to the Jackson family.
The 'connected' source reveals Paris has "tried this [a possible suicide attempt] in the past" but "this was far more serious. It was not a cry for help."

Paris had recently rekindled her relationship with her mum, who was married to Jacko from 1996 to 1999.
It had earlier emerged Paris "threw a fit" after being told she could not go to see Marilyn Manson in concert.
She ran into her bedroom screaming, and slammed the door.
Previously the teenager has been pictured with worrying marks on her arms.

The mum told the US TV show her daughter had "a lot going on".
